Hello to all of our sponsors and participants!
On behalf of CIDSO, thank you all SO much for making our first ever CIDSO’s Explore BloNo Challenge a success this past weekend! I hope that everyone was able to see the many social media updates on the event, which showed that the participating teams really brought their “A games”.
To keep everything fair, our judges were entirely unrelated to CIDSO and the event participants. We had:
- a mom of child with DS living in Pennsylvania, with a passion for post-secondary education for young adults with Ds.,
- an artistic couple and their daughter in Michigan, and
- the Development Director of a non-profit in Arkansas that did a similar fundraiser last fall.
And I have to say that I’m really glad, because I couldn’t have judged this. Everyone’s photos looked amazing to me!
After tabulating the votes, the winners emerged as follows:
Grand Prize: The Hammes Kids — winning $321 in cash, donated by an anonymous donor
2nd Place: Lizzie’s Fabulous 10 — winning a 3 hour rental of a heated garage at BloNo Pizza Co and a $100 gift card for food and drinks
3rd Place: McKale’s Mob — winning a $100 Amazon gift card, donated by an anonymous donor
All our other teams deserve Honorable Mention, and each team will win one of the following prizes:
- $50 Sherman’s gift card plus a $20 BloNo Pizza Co gift card
- $60 BloNo Pizza Co gift card
- 1 of 2 1 month memberships at The Proving Ground plus a $20 BloNo Pizzo Co gift card
- 2 1-day passes to The Proving Ground plus a $20 BloNo Pizza Co gift card
- 2 medium pizzas from Flingers Pizza Pub
Again, we are so very grateful for your support as sponsors and for the participation of all of our teams. I think we will do this again! We will email our participants next year to see if they want to come out again to strike a pose and our sponsors to see if they want to design a new challenge!
